It's been forever and a day since I've posted to this blog. Between working full time and developing my final collection for school, I've literally had no time. I've contemplated posting some of my work, but am always hesitant to do so. I'm not quite sure why. It takes a certain amount of vulnerability to display one's work, and seeing that mine is still a work in progress I think I'd be more confident to show it once its fully realized. So there. HA!
I came across this photo of Kristen McMenamy at The British Fashion Awards. She reminds me of some amazingly haunting, beautiful ghost. (Which, for some reason, reminded me that I haven't blogged in forever.) In school, my instructors are always telling us to 'know your history'. That is, study the past in order to design intelligently for the future. I guess, in many ways, that's what I love about fashion. Being able to pull ideas from the past, to take what I find beautiful and rework it in, hopefully, a new way. There seems to be so much hope to me in that idea.
Anyways...I hope that wasn't too melodramatic for you.

IRON / Woodkid
I recently stumbled across a video done for Woodkid for a song called Iron. EPIC. (Which by the way, reminds me of this video for These New Puritans. Also EPIC.) As I watched the video, I spied what seemed to be a familiar face, (AGYNESS, Is dat chu?) but in the split second her face was on screen, I couldn't quite confirm her realness. But, as I cruised on over to the site of a one Mr. Woodkid, a.k.a., Yoann Lemoine, it is confirmed. Yes, Agyness, it's you. Not that I know her personally or anything. Fashion is everywhere. HA! (Gawd, I love the internet!)
